SUMMARY 

Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Facility Manager oversees all lesson-adjacent aspects of the learn to swim program at Premier Swim Academy. Responsibilities include but are not limited to oversight of daily swim instructor staffing and evaluation, management of deck managers and instructors, and all other aspects of programming, on site, at PSA. The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring that our swim lesson operation is operating at peak performance levels to support demand for lessons, per location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a generalized job description. It defines the general character and scope of responsibilities. It does not necessarily list every duty for a given position. These responsibilities are in pair with current instructor and deck manager shifts that may be in place.

Administrative 

  • Swiftly and effectively resolves problems or disputes involving customers and/or employees
  • Comprehensive understanding of JackRabbit to effectively manage classes and family accounts and assist PSA team members; escalates JackRabbit or family account issues to PSA Systems when appropriate. 
  • Assists in oversight of staff schedules through Evolia, ensuring adequate breaks, subs, and coverage.
  • Assists in creating, inputting and managing staffing schedules including change of seasons, replacements and subbing assuring all instructor shifts are staffed. 
  • Assists in running KPI’s and sets up evaluations with instructors as necessary
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings related to assigned program activities
  • Communicate confidently and calmly with lesson families in the event of an emergency or pool closure

Facility

  • Confirms location has adequate swim equipment, teaching supplies and requirements for teaching excellent swim lessons. 
  • Oversee useful lifespan of all equipment and furniture, including replacement schedules for all equipment. 
  • Maintain swim lesson equipment
  • Work directly with on-site maintenance staff for upkeep of pool deck, equipment and pump room operations
  • Assist in facilitating all water testing 

Programs

  • Oversees learn to swim programming and staffing of the PSA location ensuring a safe and properly maintained program. Assists in oversight of all pool deck operations and all programs operating within it. 
  • Works with the Training Director/Manager to ensure proper onboarding, training and program coverage is maintained. 
  • Assists in oversight of class and staff schedules; works with Operations and Training Directors when new hires are needed & current staff departs. 
  • Leads evaluation process for all instructor staff, at a minimum of once, per instructor, monthly
  • Reads and responds accordingly to daily site notes in a timely manner; follow up on any issues or concerns. 
  • Communicate program goals and curriculum with families
  • Assigned to teach a minimum of 10 hours per week, with ability to take on more lessons depending on daily/weekly needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Consistent availability of at least 35 hours per week
  • Be able to obtain an StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification
  • Outgoing, detail-oriented, flexible in fast-paced environments, and reliable
  • Great time management
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours
  • Previous experience with developmental learn to swim programs
  • Previous experience with newborns to twelve years old

 Preferred

  • One or more years of Managerial experience
  • One or more years of customer service experience
  • Current StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Certification
